CM KCR invites President of India for OU Centenary Celebrations

President (2)-calls on Pranab Mukherjee in national capital New Delhi to extend the invitation

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao, who is currently in national capital New Delhi, extended invitation Osmania University’s Centenary celebrations to President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday. The CM, accompanied by party MPs like B. Vinod Kumar, Ap Jitender Reddy and others went to Rastrapati Bhavan to extend the invitation. The CM told the president that the centenary celebrations would be held in April this year and urged the President to attend them as the chief guest. The president of India reportedly agreed to grace the historic occasion. During his meeting with the President, KCR explained him about the importance of the university in the history of the state. He also told him the kind of role it played during the separate state agitation.  The CM also called on union HRD minister Prakash Javdekar and extended the invitation to him. He also urged the union minister to sanction one Kendriya Vidyalaya to each and every district of Telangana and an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to the state. The OU Centenary celebrations are scheduled to be held on April 26,27 and 28,2017.
